It Forward In Memory of John Dye started life as a
Facebook group set up shortly after John's death. Not only was it a tribute to
his life but also an outlet for his fans to come together
for the purpose of performing
random acts of kindness in his nam
e. Within just 8 months, the
group had grown significantly and it was suggested that a
Pay It Forward website be set up in John’s memory to
encourage a wider audience to strive to make a difference in their
communities.
Working closely with John’s family, thoughts for the website came flooding in and the idea began to take shape. Rather than a fan site, the hope is that the web pages will be a lasting tribute to John and a place where people can share their experiences of what they are doing to "Pay It Forward" in their communities. We are hoping that inspired by stories of John's kind heart and generous nature that visitors to the site can, in the words of his father Jim Dye, "Follow their Heart and make a difference in their community".
Whilst John had charities which he supported for which links can be found on this site, we feel very much that John's home town and his home church were close to his heart and it is for this reason that the causes that this site would like to officially "adopt" are St. Andrew's United Methodist Youth Program and The Amory Food Pantry.
We recognize that while there maybe people who are motivated to do something positive in their communities, the realities maybe that they are unable physically to get out and make a difference. For this reason, we have included our "Prayer Corner". Intercession is a powerful effort which can be undertaken by both young and old, able and disabled. If you would like to receive prayer either personally, for your community or for a wider global issue, you can request this on the Prayer Corner page.

Ways to Contribute to Pay It Forward in Memory of John Dye
You can also help us get the word out by downloading and printing these cards and distributing them to friends, family members, etc. We also have a flyer for display on bulletin boards. Please fringe cut them at the bottom so people can tear off a piece and look the site up at their convenience. In addition, you may also use the graphic below in emails to spread the word. Please be respectful in how you use these materials. None of the graphics should be reproduced for anything other than Pay it Forward in Memory of John Dye-related endeavors without our permission.
